Dr. Stuart Wolf joined the University of Michigan faculty in July of 1996 to become the director of the Michigan Center for Minimally Invasive Urology.

After receiving his M.D. degree from Northwestern University in 1988, Dr. Wolf completed the urology residency program at the University of California (San Francisco) in 1994.  He is the author or co-author of more than 90 scientific articles and 45 invited publications.  Dr. Wolf's work has been recognized by awards and / or research grants from the American Foundation for Urologic Disease, the Department of Veterans Affairs, the Endourological Society, the American Society of Transplant Surgeons, the American Urological Association, and two regional sections of the American Urological Association.

Dr. Wolf's clinical practice has focuses on urologic laparoscopy and endourology.  Dr. Wolf's emphasis on laparoscopic surgery, a burgeoning field, allows him to serve as both a resource to physicians and a provider of cutting-edge care to patients.  In the more established field of endourology, Dr. Wolf is available to assist with those complex cases that might benefit from referral to a tertiary care facility.

The research mission of the Michigan Center for Minimally Invasive Urology is the development of new instrumentation and techniques for laparoscopy and other minimally invasive procedures.  At the present time, many of these procedure are available only in large medical centers.  Only through simplification of these procedures will they become more widespread and therefore available to more patients in need.  Every effort will be made to bring technological advances quickly from the laboratory to the clinical arena.
