BROAD GOAL

Urologic Oncology is an area of emphasis at the University of Michigan Medical Center and Comprehensive Cancer Center. Our goal is to have one of the foremost programs for urologic cancer in the country and we are very close to that. We have made a huge investment in bringing together a highly regarded group of researchers and clinicians with a primary interest in urologic cancer research and care, one of the largest multidisciplinary groups of researchers and clinicians in the country in the field of genitourinary oncology. We have a combination of urologists, radiation oncologists, pathologists, medical oncologists and basic researchers who meet on a regular basis to share information. Having this multidisciplinary group of people is a critical component. Bringing that many individuals together to start five (5) labs and funding this sort of development plan exemplifies a tremendous commitment to preventing and conquering this complex disease.
